'Frankenstein'
By Danielle Mohlman
"This adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic novel explores monsters and the women who create them. Mary Shelley sits down to write Frankenstein at 18 years old with everything to prove. Her husband, the poet Percy Shelley, is too in his head to notice his wife’s phenomenal talent. She’s grieving the death of her infant daughter. And in this era of gothic literature, no one wants to believe that the darkness on the page mirrors the storm in her own head. That is, until her mother shows up. The only problem is, Mary Wollstonecraft died when Shelley was just ten days old."

'The Brave Little Taylor'
When Chris climbs into his Grandmother's attic and blows upon a magic ocarina, the mysterious Storyteller and his many spirits and elves appear. But Chris is in for a surprise when the Storyteller sends Chris (and his trusty cat Keara) into the fable as the little tailor himself! Chris doesn't feel very brave to begin with, but once he encounters a not-so-bright giant, the royal court, two vain dragons, a mysterious unicorn and the dreaded Swamp Monster, perhaps he'll learn where bravery comes from. The furniture of Grandmother's attic becomes all of the locales in this comic adventure for young audiences.

This evening we will share scenes from a variety of Shakespeare’s plays. The students have been working hard on picking apart the language, thinking about how you can set these plays in different time periods and considering how you need to block the scenes to help bring them to life for a contemporary audience.
Scenes featured- Othello, Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Macbeth.
Come along and join us!

'Beauty and the Beast'
A magical re-telling of the story of Beauty and the Beast, first performed in this version by the Royal Shakespeare Company.
When Beauty's father hears that his long-lost ship packed with pearls has landed safely in harbour, he sets out on a long, difficult journey to claim his fortune and rescue his family from poverty.
But when, stumbling across a magic world belonging to a fearsome beast, he picks a rose as a present for his favourite daughter, the family find themselves in a nightmarish predicament from which only Beauty can rescue them...
This timeless tale of the true nature of beauty and the transformational power of love is brought to glorious life in Laurence Boswell's thrilling and inventive adaptation, which draws on the origins of the tale in French folklore, and is filled with music, dance and song.'
